and i’m nowhere to be found
when i search for myself
so what’s in a name
when nobody’s bothered to stop
and smell my rose?

another accident
another life gone
this makes two people that
i actually gave a shit about
in three years taken behind the wheel
one my best friend
the other also a good friend
both taken and gone
i hate cars now,
but cars are a part of my job
and when i see a car come into the lot
that’s obviously been in an accident,
all i can think of
is “thank any gods that i
don’t know who’s stained the
interior of this vehicle.”
and how easy my overactive imagination
shows me exactly how
it very well could have been
i hate cars.

There are moments
or better yet
situations
that make me wish
I was living
rather than
just being
alive

such as
when I see her
with him
or no
when I see all of them
together
filled with smiles
and conversations
while I wonder
if I will leave my house
the next day

There are times when
I see
that I have everything I wished for
and wonder
why couldn’t my dreams
have been bigger
what made me wish for
simplicity
rather than
a life worth living

There are moments
or better yet
situations
that make me wish
I could start over again
and change everything I have become
but they are only moments
short ones at that
and then reality comes back
and I am aware,
sometimes too aware
of who I am
and realize
I have no place to wish.
